Jakub M. Ciesielski – Associate Attorney
Jakub M. Ciesielski is an associate attorney with Alicja M. Sroka and Associates. Jakub’s practice consists of a broad array of matters. Jakub now heads the firm’s litigation section handling matters in family law, real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and commercial and residential foreclosure defense and collateral loss alternative solutions.
He also represents and advises small business clients in commercial transactions and regulatory compliance. Jakub also handles both commercial and residential real estate transactions, including sale, purchase, and leasing agreements as part of the firm’s real estate services group, both generally and with a focus on dispute resolution after transactions are completed.
Jakub spent nearly the first five years of his legal career primarily defending non-profit organizations and self-insured corporate clients against toxic and mass tort, premises liability, other personal injury, and employment/labor lawsuits while working for a mid-size litigation firm in Downtown Chicago.
He brings this litigation experience, including extensive motion practice, taking and defending many depositions, alternative dispute resolution, favorable settlement of dozens of prior cases, and his frequent presence in the courthouses of Cook Co. and the surrounding counties to the firm of Alicja M. Sroka and Associates and its clients. Jakub also has experience as a mediator in Cook County Circuit Court and previously clerked with the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender’s Felony Trial Division during law school.
From his experience litigating high value injury cases in Cook County, Jakub knows the risks and costs associated with prolonged litigation and has an insight into the minds of corporate parties and their attorneys.
That is why, while also a zealous advocate in both the conference room and the courtroom, Jakub prides himself on taking a wholistic approach in counseling his various clients on their options and solutions from numerous different aspects and angles to get them the best result possible, both where that can be attained without litigation and where litigation is necessary.
